QUICK LINKS:

About this Network

To Support schools with their 'Alternative Curriculum', VESA runs a network for teachers with responsibility for co-ordinating and teaching 'Alternative Curriculum' programmes at KS4.

The Network provides 3 meetings per year to facilitate a collaborative approach to dealing with disengagement and under achievement by:

supporting curriculum development

sharing good practice in dealing with disengaged students

developing local quality assurance procedures

negotiating with F.E. over student progression

identifying and responding to staff development needs

support for individual centres

Network members subscribing to VESA will be entitled to support from VESA through telephone / email contacts. In addition, each centre will be entitled to one support visit from a VESA representative to address currriculum and staff development issues relating to Alternative Curriculum.

Alternative curriculum annual conference

Each academic year VESA hold an annual Leicester+shire 1 day annual conference during the summer term. The conference is aimed at teachers organising and delivering alternative curriculum programmes at KS4 and will provide an opportunity to:
