Admissions to Higher Education: Advisers’ Directory

Admissions to Higher Education: Advisers’ Directory Admissions to Higher Education:

Advisers’ Directory (AHEAD) is primarily aimed at staff in schools but is equally useful for any practitioner tasked with providing HE-related advice and guidance to young people. AHEAD is a support resource designed to ensure that advisers have access to information on the very latest changes and developments in HE admissions and applications processes. It is invaluable for any school or organisation that wishes to support its staff to provide excellent HE-related advice and preparation for students progressing to the higher level.

The first two editions received excellent feedback from users and the new 3rd edition for 2009-11 includes significant updates on:

  •  the graduate employment market in light of the current economic climate
  •  the latest changes to university application processes
  •  the deepening impact of 14-19 reforms on university applications / admissions
  •  student finance and tuition fees
  •  developing whole-school programmes to prepare students for success at the higher level
  •  continuing support for schools from Specialist Schools and Academies Trust

AHEAD is intended to ‘advise the advisers’ and support anyone answering even occasional HE-related questions.

The directory is a user-friendly guide that has been authored by experts including carefully selected and fully qualified HE advisers, each armed with a wealth of practical experience in delivering guidance and advice as well as training others to do so.
