Welcome to the Employer PageOn this page you will be able to find resource materials to support students undergoing work placements and an on-line survey for you to complete after a student has completed their placement. We value your comments and rely on your continuing offer of high quality placements in order for work experience to be both rewarding and productive for all parties. Information for EmployersIf you are thinking of offering Work Experience or have been approached by a student, parent or school for a placement the notes below will give you a broad overview of what is involved. the work placementDepending on their school or college a student may be with you on work experience for 1 or 2 weeks, in some cases students may be with you for 1 or 2 days per week for a longer period of time. For most students this will be their first experience of a working environment and many situations will be new and strange to them. It is crucial to student development that this first experience of work is a positive learning situation. The outcomes of work experience can be many and varied but we would expect all placements to develop social skills and work specific skills. Employer SurveyThis on-line survey is for employers who have taken a student on work experience from a Leicester City or a Leicestershire school/college. All your feedback is gratefully received and will assist WEXA in its ongoing commitment to provide high quality work experience placements. Please click to access the employer survey

Work Experience Learning FrameworksThese are a set of materials covering varied occupational areas designed to help students achieve a postive learning outcome from their work placement. The learning frameworks use work tasks to develop employability, work and key skills. Please click below to access. Extended Work ExperienceAn extended placement has been designed to address the needs of students who have been identified as low/under achievers and/or are disaffected. It should be noted that a significant number of the students will have low self-esteem. It is however important to note that not all disaffected students are low ability. The aim of the placement is to increase students' motivation, achievement and consequently their self esteem by providing a programme that exploits the opportunities available through activities associated with work related learning. All placements are subject to an interview prior to the start of the placement.
